Designer Profile
"Style is a simple way of saying complicated things." - Jean Cocteau
Finding the right interior designer is not just about the finished project. It is a process of collaboration that seamlessly blends the skills of the interior designer with the voice of the client.
Kim Eastburn knows that beautiful interiors are about more than just pleasing the eye. They provide respite from the demands of the outside world while creating a connection back to one’s inner, most authentic self.
With a keen understanding of our relationship to physical space, Kim knows that environment and occupant must be in synch. When they are not, imbalance appears, impacting other facets of life.
Kim uses a method of “awakening” that allows clients to discover how, and why, their environments aren’t working anymore. Many times there are unconscious patterns of behavior, consumption or self-expression that leave one feeling “stuck”.
Kim’s design skills and intuition guide clients as they get rid of old patterns and possessions that no longer work. Together, they discover new ways of self-expression that beautifully satisfy the physical, emotional and lifestyle needs of the client. This is the true starting point for the creation of “home”.
Kim Eastburn’s interior design philosophy has nothing to do with esoteric trend or the mindless accumulation of possessions. Nor is it an opportunity to selfishly develop a designers’ “signature style”. It is about helping people to connect with the things that are truly important in their lives.
Kim is most proud of the deep and lasting relationships she has made over the years. A trusted advisor, Kim’s clients seek her guidance on project after project – some for over 20 years. The collaborations have allowed her to work throughout much of the United States and explore many different design styles. Kim’s clients rely on her to keep their homes fluid and comfortable as they transition through the many cycles of life. She is pleased to be helping many of their children, as they become the next generation to create homes of their own.
Kim writes and speaks passionately about the therapeutic benefits of interior design. Her articles appear at http://www.theinteriordesignshrink.com and she is currently writing a book on the subject.
